Noralee Stanton

Noralee Stanton (1926 – 2024)

Noralee Stanton was born in Vancouver, WA February 8th,1926 to Leslie and Latitia Spangler. She attended Hough Elementary School and graduated from Vancouver High School in 1944. She then went on to attend Clark College and later taught a class there on medical transcription.

 On August 16, 1947, she married Elwyn (Ty) Stanton. They were married for 47 years before he passed away in 2011. Together they had 3 children, Leslie Erickson, Ty (Shari) Stanton and Barbara (Jon) Sutter. Noralee was always proud of her large family, having been an only child herself. She had four grandchildren (LeAnne, Alisa, Lauri and Jon), seven great grandchildren (Angela, Sarah, Tyler, Austin, Brooke, Joe and Jenna) and 3 great-great grandchildren (Makhari, Zaniyah and Zane).

Noralee spent many years working at St. Joseph’s hospital and The Urology Clinic of SW WA performing medical transcription. Having been a Sophomore in High School when the US entered WWII, she stayed close with her classmates who were life-long friends. She attended Class of ’44 luncheons every month for over 65 years and was a very active member of the local chapter of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs.

Noralee and Ty spent many years dividing their time between their farm in Ridgefield and their home in Ocean Park, WA. Noralee was well known for her many skills to include cooking, baking, canning, gardening, sewing and painting to name a few!

Noralee was a best friend to many and will be deeply missed by her friends and family. A memorial service will be held at Northwood Park Cemetery, 16407 NE 15th Ave. Ridgefield, WA 98642, on Friday, October 11, 2024 at 11:00am.
