Manuel Martinez Martinez

This past Sunday, we lost a beloved family member on December 1, 2024. Manuel Martinez Martinez, age 86, passed peacefully in his home.

Manuel Martinez Martinez, was born on July 17, 1938, to Agapita and Faustino Martinez in Mercedes, Texas, being the youngest of five siblings. Manuel had many children, seventeen in total! Thirteen, from his first marriage to Rebecca Martinez, and with his second wife, Gloria Zavala, he gained four additional children.

With his love of all things Tejanas, one could clearly recognize him with western clothing, Tejana hats, and his cowboy boots. Leading many to fondly know him as "Botitas" (little boots). Manuel was a faithful Catholic and a loving provider to his children and wives. He was a hard worker, spiffy dresser, lover of dancing, wonderful accordion player, "talented" singer, and a skilled mechanic who adored his truck, which he used well driving all over Oregon and Washington.

Manuel never forgot to stay true to himself and lived life fully. Being a man that loved to be around people, laughing and sharing his adventures with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Gloria, 17 children, 69 grandchildren, and 58 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his 4 siblings and 4 grandchildren.

Manuel's memory will remain in the hearts of his family and friends. May God bring him rest and peace. His wife had one final thing to say, "Que esté en la Santa Gloria. Toda su vida fue un buen hombre/ papá y un gran esposo."
