Makenna Yvonne Smith

Makenna Yvonne Smith, 19, passed away Oct. 26, 2021, as the result of an automobile accident.

She was born April 13, 2002, in Longview and graduated from Discovery High School in 2020. Makenna was a free spirit, who had just started her adult life by moving out on her own, working as a manager at a local restaurant, and spending time with her fur children: cats, Pluto Anunnaki and Juniper. Makenna had a unique spark. She was an artist. She enjoyed the company of her sisters, and their many shared laughs.

Makenna is survived by her mother, Karen Corbin of Longview; her father and stepmother, Beau and Katie Smith of Crescent City, Calif.; three sisters, Abagail Barragan and Kassidy Smith, both of Longview and Khloe Smith of Crescent City; her grandparents, Ken and Colleen Corbin, Jake Smith, and Vicky Smith, all of Longview, and Stormy and Daniel Borelli of Crescent City; and her great-grandparents, Carson and Margaret Breland, and Wanda Smith, all of Kelso, and Phyllis Wilson of Smith River, Calif.; an aunt, Krista Corbin-Diaz (Jalin Diaz) of Kent, Wash.; and an uncle, Brandon Smith (Jamie) of Brookings, Ore.

A candlelight vigil was held Oct. 28. A viewing is planned from 1 to 5 p.m. Nov. 1 at Steele Chapel. A celebration of Makenna’s life will be announced at a later date.
