Julie Sims

Julie Sims, age 79, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024 in Vancouver, WA, surrounded by her family. Born in Salt Lake City, UT, she was proceeded in death by her parents, James Gordon Sims and Leah Maxfield Sims. She is survived by her sisters, Patricia Petersen and Peggy Knaphus, both from Utah; her children, one son and three daughters; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Julie and her first husband started the Great Dane Club of Utah in the late 1960s. She owned and operated The Hostess House and Bridal Arts Building in Vancouver, WA, from 1985 until her retirement in 2018. Julie also served as the President of the Restaurant Association in Washington State for many years. She will be greatly missed. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at 11:00AM Pacific Time at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, located at 14400 NW 26th Ave., Vancouver, WA 98685.
