Douglass Williams, 82, was born on Dec 28, 1941 in Ontario, Or and passed away from cancer at his home in Vancouver, Wa on Aug 7, 2024.
Doug grew up in Weiser, Ida and graduated from Weiser High School in 1960. He spent his high school & college summers working on his family ranch. He graduated from University of Idaho with a major in math and industrial arts. He taught 2 years at Capital High School in Boise, Ida after graduation. Then Doug and his wife, Fay moved to Detroit, Mi where he earned his Masters degree in Industrial Arts at Wayne State University. The remaining years of his 40 year teaching career was in the Vancouver School District at Hudson’s Bay High School and at Pan Terra Alternative School, later changed to Lewis and Clark High School. He was a craftsman and used his hands to work with wood and metal. He used a variety of machines in his shop next to his house. In addition, he cultivated an orchard on his property with a variety of apples, pears, blueberries and other fruit. He really enjoyed spending his time outside taking good care of his orchard and berry bushes.
Doug is survived by his wife, Fay of 56 years, daughter Terri (Mark), son Matthew (Angela), two grandchildren, Faith (12) and Joya (10), sister JoAnn (Donald) of Heyburn, Ida and brother Ralph (Susan) of Nampa, Ida.
