Christopher Aparicio

March 21, 2007 — August 26, 2024

Woodland, Washington

Christopher J. Aparicio was born in Longview, WA. on March 21, 2007, to Minerva Aparicio. He passed away on August 26th, 2024, at Doernbecher’s Children’s Hospital after a 4-year battle with Cancer. He lived in Woodland WA and attended Woodland schools.

He was baptized at St. Philip’s Catholic Church in Woodlandand received all his sacraments. He was an altar server and played his violin during mass.

Through his childhood Chris spent most of his day helping Gram and Gramps on the berry farm, doing donut runs, baking and cooking dinner. Chris had many adults in his life that helped shape him into the wonderful young man he became, including his “adopted” Akerly Grandparents. He learned to fish, play cribbage, and spent many happy days with them.

Chris’s love of music began in 4th grade. His passion for music continued into middleschool and High school where he joined band and the jazz band playing the French horn and trumpet. His favorite Instrument was the violin. He loved music from the 50’s and 60’s and his favorite song was Cheek to Cheek by Fred Astaire.

After High School, Chris wanted to become an auto-mechanic and work on classic cars. He purchased a red 1974 Volkswagen Beetle (which he named Junior) before he got his driver’s license. He enjoyed working on the engine and restoring “Junior”.

During his many cancer treatments, he kept a positive attitude andstrong faith in God. He was best known for his wonderful sense of humor. He was loved and befriended by the staffs at Randall and Doernbecher hospitals. Chris and his mother were most appreciativeof the wonderful care provided by the Doctors and staff at both hospitals. One doctor made it a point to bring Chris a medical joke whenever she came to see him. Another said on thedays he saw Chris in clinic, he always made sure he was well dressed, because Chris was always better dressed. The nurses, therapists, and aides loved to joke and banter with Chris. He touched the hearts and souls of the staff and brought them closer together.

Christopher is survived by his mother, Minerva, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
